Laser Hair Reduction in Juhu
Fewer, finer hairs on the face or body, without waxing, threading or razor burn. Doctor-led, with honest numbers about what laser can and cannot do.
- 8–10 sittings usually
- 1 month apart at first
- Up to 80% reduction
- Minimal downtime
Reduction, not removal. The difference matters.
A laser pulse is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, travels down the shaft and heats the follicle enough to stop it producing hair. Only follicles in their active growth phase respond, which is why one session is never enough and why sittings are spaced weeks apart.
Because the laser looks for pigment, it works best on thick, dark hair. Fine, light, grey or white hair has too little pigment to absorb the energy, and no laser will clear it. Over a full course, most people see around 80% of hair gone, with what remains growing back finer and slower. Anyone promising you a hair-free body is overselling.
Hormones can change the picture. Conditions such as PCOS keep stimulating new follicles, so you may need top-ups long after the course ends. We would rather tell you that at the consultation than after your sixth session.
Where we treat
- FaceUpper lip, chin, upper lip and chin together, side locks, or the full face.
- UnderarmsOne of the quickest areas, and usually the first place clients notice the difference.
- Arms and legsFull hands, full legs or half legs.
- Bikini lineTreated in a private room by a female therapist.
- Back, chest and abdomenIncluding chest, and chest with abdomen, for men.
- Full bodyFace and body together, planned as one course.
Not suitable if the hair in the area is fine, light, grey or white, if you have an active skin infection, open wounds or a fresh tan or sunburn on the area, or if you are pregnant. Tell us about any medication that makes skin light-sensitive, such as isotretinoin. We will say so at consultation rather than take your money for a course that cannot work.
How it works
-
Assessment
We look at the hair itself — thickness, colour and density — along with your skin and any hormonal history, then tell you what a realistic result looks like for your areas.
-
Two weeks of preparation
No bleaching, waxing or threading for two weeks before your sitting. The laser needs the root in place, and waxing removes exactly what it is meant to target. Shaving is fine.
-
Shave and patch test
The area is shaved so the energy goes into the follicle rather than burning surface hair, and settings are tested on a small patch first.
-
The laser pass
The handpiece moves over the area in overlapping passes. Most people describe a warm snap, cooled as it goes. Underarms take minutes; full legs take longer.
-
Cooling and sunscreen
Cooling afterwards, then sunscreen before you leave if the area is exposed.
-
The course
Sittings are about a month apart for the first two or three, then stretch to two or three months as growth slows. Courses are sold as six sessions, with two more free if results fall short after six. The clinic’s own guidance is that eight to ten sittings are usually needed to begin with.
Post-care instructions
These are the clinic’s own instructions, given to every laser client.
- No bleaching, waxing or threading for two weeks before the procedure.
- Scabs occasionally form and last four to five days. This means the hair was lasered effectively. Do not pick them — let them fall off on their own.
- The treated skin may look discoloured for a few months afterwards. It settles.
- If you need a retouch, it should be done within 20 days of the treatment.
- Sunscreen on any treated area that sees daylight, every morning.
- Anything unusual — blistering, lasting pain, spreading redness — call the clinic.
What to expect: up to 80% of hair is reduced over a course, and what remains grows back finer. Because the laser works on thick black hair, thinner hair may persist after the package ends. Hormonal changes can also restart growth. This is laser hair reduction, not laser hair removal.

Laser hair reduction FAQs
Does it hurt?
Most people describe a warm snap against the skin, like a rubber band flicked quickly, with cooling as the handpiece moves. Underarms and upper lip are over in minutes. Larger areas take longer but the sensation is the same.
How many sittings will I need?
Usually eight to ten to begin with. Courses are sold in packages of six sessions, and if results fall short after those six, two more sessions are given free. How many you ultimately need depends on hair thickness, the area and your hormones.
How far apart are the sittings?
About a month apart for the first two or three. After that the gap usually stretches to two or three months as regrowth slows down.
Will the hair be gone permanently?
No, and nobody should tell you otherwise. Expect up to 80% reduction, with the hair that remains growing back finer. Laser targets thick black hair, so fine or light hair can persist, and hormonal changes can restart growth later.
Can I wax or thread between sittings?
No. Waxing and threading pull the root out, which is the thing the laser needs to find. Stop both, along with bleaching, two weeks before each sitting. Shaving is fine throughout.
Is it safe on Indian skin?
Yes, with the right settings, which is why we patch test first and treat at a doctor-led clinic rather than a salon. Avoid booking on freshly tanned or sunburned skin, and use sunscreen on exposed areas between sittings.
I have scabs after my session. Is that normal?
Occasionally, yes. They last four to five days and mean the hair was lasered effectively. Leave them alone and let them fall off. Call the clinic if you see blistering or the area stays painful.
I have PCOS. Will laser still work?
It usually still reduces hair considerably, but hormonal stimulation keeps producing new follicles, so you are more likely to need occasional top-ups afterwards. We will talk through what to expect before you commit to a course.
