What It Is

A facial with a machine behind it

A salon facial works the surface: steam, massage, a mask, and a glow that fades by the weekend. A medi-facial uses medical-grade technology — Q-switch and pico lasers, radiofrequency, oxygen infusion, microdermabrasion — to change something specific about the skin.

Which one you get depends on the problem. Pigmentation responds to laser. Oily, congested skin does better with carbon. Dull and dehydrated skin wants oxygen or the Korean glass protocol. Early laxity is a job for radiofrequency. Choosing the wrong one wastes your money and your afternoon, which is why every session starts with a look at your skin.

None of these need recovery time. Most people have one over lunch or before an event and go straight back to their day.

The eight we offer

  • Q-Switch Laser Facial — 30 minShort, high-intensity laser pulses break down excess melanin for a more even tone. Works on sun spots, age spots, freckles and acne marks.
  • Acne Cleanup Facial — 30 minOur most-booked clean-up. Blackheads, whiteheads and active acne cleared by hand, finished with an acne-busting peel.
  • Korean Glass Facial — 90 minMulti-step exfoliation, deep hydration and a cocktail of vitamins and antioxidants. Removes tan and leaves the glass-like finish it is named for.
  • Pico Laser Facial — 40 minPicosecond laser that breaks pigment for an instant glow. A soft gel peel first, then laser, then a mask.
  • Carbon Laser Facial — 45 minAlso called the Hollywood peel. Activated carbon plus laser for fine lines, acne scars and enlarged pores. Particularly good on oily skin.
  • RF Skin Tightening Facial — 45 minKorean radiofrequency technology: a soft gel peel, 30 minutes of RF energy, then a mask. For early laxity.
  • Skin Shine — 30 minMicrodermabrasion with a mask chosen for your skin type. The quiet one, and a good first medi-facial.
  • Oxygen Facial — 30 minInfuses oxygen while gently exfoliating and brightening. Dull, tired skin looks awake again.

Not suitable if you have an active skin infection, open wounds, inflamed cystic acne or recent sunburn on the area. Tell us if you are on isotretinoin or using strong actives, as some of these need to be postponed. We will tell you at consultation rather than treat around a problem.

The Session

How it works

  1. Skin assessment

We look at your skin, ask what you have been using and what you want changed, then pick the facial. If you came in asking for one and another suits you better, we will say so.

  2. Cleanse and prep

Makeup and sunscreen off, skin cleansed, and a gel peel applied where the protocol calls for one.

  3. The active step

This is the part that differs — laser passes, radiofrequency energy, oxygen infusion, microdermabrasion or manual extraction, depending on which facial you are having.

  4. Mask and finish

A mask chosen for your skin type, with LED where it helps, to calm the skin and lock in the result.

  5. Sunscreen, and out

Moisturiser and sunscreen before you leave. Freshly treated skin takes colour faster than usual, so this is not optional.

Aftercare

Post-care instructions

Simple, and worth following for the two days that matter.

  • Sunscreen every morning, reapplied if you are outdoors.
  • No steam, sauna, swimming or a hard workout for 24 hours.
  • No retinol, AHAs, BHAs or vitamin C for 48 hours. Plain cleanser and moisturiser only.
  • No waxing or threading on the treated area for 48 hours.
  • Skip makeup for the rest of the day. From the next morning it is fine.
  • Mild redness or warmth for an hour or two is normal. Anything beyond that, call the clinic.

How often: monthly suits most skins. For active pigmentation or congestion we may start closer together and then space sessions out. Before a wedding or a shoot, book three to five days ahead rather than the day before.

Questions

Medi-facial FAQs

Which medi-facial should I book?

Book a consultation rather than a facial. Pigmentation usually points to Q-switch or pico, congestion to the acne clean-up or carbon, dullness to oxygen or Korean glass, and early laxity to radiofrequency. We would rather choose after seeing your skin.

Is there any downtime?

Very little. Some warmth or mild redness for an hour or two is normal, particularly after laser or radiofrequency. Makeup is fine from the next morning, and nothing here leaves you peeling.

How is this different from a salon facial?

A salon facial works on the surface with steam, massage and a mask. A medi-facial uses medical-grade equipment under clinical supervision and targets a specific concern. The glow lasts longer because something has actually changed.

How soon will I see a difference?

Brightness and smoothness show the same day. Pigmentation and scarring change over a course, not in one session, and we will tell you roughly how many sessions your concern needs before you start.

How often can I have one?

Monthly works for most people. Some protocols can be repeated sooner during an active phase of treatment; we will space them for you.

Can I have one if I have acne?

Often yes. The acne clean-up exists for exactly that, and carbon suits oily, congested skin. We avoid laser over inflamed cystic acne and treat the acne first.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Yes, with the right choice and settings. Tell us about rosacea, eczema or any history of reacting to actives, and we will pick a gentler protocol.

Can I have one before an event?

Yes, and many clients do. Book three to five days before rather than the day before, so any redness has settled and the skin has had time to look its best.
